Lookies! I finished something! One down two to go... Can I have some feedback on this? It didn't end the way I wanted it to and I'm not sure if I should add a bit more, anything you have to say would be appreciated. Even flames...has anyone ever been flamed on this list? I don't recall anything... Oh and I did write Yamato's song...I can't write poetry or songs or things like that so please ignore it! Anyways here's my fic: Dying Love By: Tai Chick The bright orange sun was visible to the entire city. A cool breeze was blowing keeping things from getting too hot and young children ran home to be in time for dinner. But this wasn't recognized by two boys who stood alone on an open roof. "I don't understand Yama, please tell me why you're doing this now." Taichi Yagami begged the other. Yamato's cold blue eyes looked out over the city as he spoke just above a whisper. "I think it will be better this way...you'll be better off without me." "You mean *you'll* be better off without *me*" Taichi said harshly. "What brought this on all the sudden?" "Lots of things. We're still young, we should experience more...and my band..." "Yama, does this have anything to do with the fact that I'm a boy?" Taichi asked softly, a few tears ran down his cheeks. "It never used to bother you before." Yamato clenched the railing tightly. "It does now...I've made up my mind. Taichi, we're through." Taichi had been crying before, but now it was worse. Tears flowed and heart wrenching sobs filled dusk's air. "Please Yamato...don't do this." Yamato refused to speak. He walked to the door and down the stairs, leaving his first and only love alone. Tears had filled his eyes as well. "I'm sorry Taichi, but our relationship is wrong. It always has been..." He gasped and gripped the wall of the hallway. "But then why does this hurt so much?" A thousand thoughts ran through his head, all he wanted to do was go home and sleep forever...but no. There was a party he was expected to go to. The others were trying to make Ken feel welcome among both the old and new Digidestined. Besides, Mimi was coming all the way from America and bringing Michael. Yamato laughed bitterly as he began his walk home. He supposed he could have waited until after the party, but Taichi would have been all over him. Those big beautiful brown, would have made him change his mind instantly about what he was going to do. So why did he do it? Easy. He did it for Taichi. Taichi deserved so much more than Yamato could offer. He didn't deserve to be criticized every time he went on a date. He didn't deserve to have to stand and watch other couples dancing at dances because the school would kick them out...no. He deserved so much better. "Taichi Yagami, you deserve a beautiful girl to love...not a boy like me." Still listening to the cries above him he walked back to his house to get ready for the party. ‘Parties in full swing are the best.' Daisuke thought to himself as he watched Takeru spin Hikari round in circles. A month ago he would have become insanely jealous...but now, he didn't seem to mind anymore. He clapped and laughed with the rest of them. Miyako shot Daisuke a strange look, asking him what was up and he just shrugged. He didn't really know himself. But he liked being free from the girl. He looked around the room. Everyone who was supposed to be there was...well, almost everyone. Taichi had called earlier to say that he was going to be late. Now all they needed was for Ken to show up. They were all going to be present to greet Ken and make him feel welcome. To show him that there were no hard feelings about him trying to take over the Digital World. Just then he felt someone grab his hand and swing him around. "Hey Daisuke, feel like dancing?" Miyako said as she spun him again. Daisuke laughed. "Do I have much of a choice?" They continued to dance and she thought. "No." She said at last. "So...you finally over Hikari?" Daisuke grinned. "Well, yeah. I don't know what brought it on, but it's kind of a relief." Miyako smiled slyly. "I think I know what brought it on so suddenly." She turned her head to the door. "Or rather *who*." Daisuke followed her gaze to where Ken Ichijoji had entered the room looking shy. Everyone had gone over to him to bid him welcome. Daisuke shot Miyako a confused look and headed over to Ken who was now looking a bit overwhelmed. "Konnichi-wa Ken!" Daisuke chirped with a large smile. Ken visibly relaxed and returned the smile. "Konnichi-wa Daisuke." When everyone had dispersed and gone back to their activities, their fingers intertwined and they both smiled. "I'm really glad you decided to come tonight." Daisuke said shyly. "I'm glad you insisted that I come." Ken answered, then looked down at their fingers and blushed. Daisuke blushed as well. "Do you want me to introduce you to everyone...one at a time?" Ken smiled. "I'd like that." Across the room there was one girl who witnessed the exchange. "So Daisuke...found someone better than me? Well I'll soon fix that..." Yamato, on the opposite side of the room also noticed Daisuke and Ken. His heart began to hurt. The two of them were acting just like Taichi and himself had just before they had started going out. "Don't you two realize what you're getting into?" Yamato whispered to himself. "Someone's going to get hurt." "Who's going to get hurt?" Koushirou asked coming up behind him. "Hu? Oh...no one, I'm just talking to myself." Koushirou eyed him suspiciously "Okay...oh look, Taichi just showed up, why don't you go talk to him?" "No...that's okay, Taichi knows everyone here." "Yamato, what's wrong? You seem so upset, and Taichi doesn't look well either...did something happen?" Yamato's voice cracked as he tried not to cry right then and there. "We broke up." "Nani!? When...who...why?" Yamato took a deep breath. "It was my doing...I just got so sick of all the comments, and I saw how uncomfortable Taichi would get when we were out together...So I let him go." Koushirou crossed his arms and shook his head. "You really believe that?" Yamato's gaze turned back to Daisuke and Ken who were talking to Mimi and Jou. "I thought so..." He sighed and smiled. "They're so cute." "Who?" Koushirou turned. "Oh wow, Daisuke and Ken...I hadn't noticed before, who would have thought?" Yamato laughed. "I just noticed it myself. I don't think that they realize how deep their relationship is yet, they will soon though. Taichi's going to..." he cut himself short. "Yamato, I really think you're making a mistake." Koushirou said softly. "I'm so...confused...I really thought that I was doing the right thing, but now..." "There's one person in the world for everyone. What are the chances that you'll find that person on the first try? Almost nothing...but I think that Taichi is your match, you two got lucky. "Do you really think?" "I do" Koushirou laughed. "Now get out of here and fix your mistake, I'm sure that Taichi will forgive you." "I'm not so sure...I hurt him pretty bad...Really bad." "Yamato?" "Yes?" "Go." "Gone." Yamato crossed through the crowd and into a small dark corner, he only had a little bit of time. He pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil, this was the only way he could talk without emotions getting in the way. He hoped Taichi would listen. Ken put a gentle hand on Daisuke's shoulder and he turned to smile. "You know you're always welcome here." Daisuke said. "I know that now...you given me hope." A little giggle was heard to their right. Iori was standing there trying not to laugh. "Now what, pray tell, is so funny?" Ken asked trying to look stern, but failing miserably. Iori continued to giggle. "Nothing. Nope, nothing, un-uh not a thing." He turned to Miyako who was also laughing. "You know guys, there isn't anything for you to go and get all excited about." Daisuke insisted. "It's not like we're in love or anything." "`Corse not." Takeru stated looking around. "Hey has anyone seen Hikari?" All the digidestines shook their heads. "I haven't seen her since Ken showed up. Do you think she went home?" Mikako asked. "Doubt it." Takeru stated. "I'm going to find her." And he left. "Daisuke." Ken whispered once he had gone. "Is there anything wrong with Taichi?" Daisuke looked over to where his partner was indicating. Jou was attempting to engage Taichi in conversation. It wasn't working well, Taichi just looked plain depressed. "I don't know...would you mind if I talked to him?" "Of course not. I'll manage on my own...for the time being." Daisuke smiled and headed in Taichi's direction, Ken realized that he was alone. Iori and Mikako had taken to dancing and Takeru had gone to look for Hikari. Ken smiled to himself as he drank his punch...it was quite good. He liked it here. He liked these people and they seemed to like him. For the first time in years he had friends. True friends...not just people who wanted his help with school work and were after him because he was a genius. These people seemed to high for that. Especially Daisuke. With the thought of the tall-genki boy he started to tremble. Why did he fell this way for him? He was a *boy* that type of thing wasn't supposed to go on. But no matter how much he insisted to himself that he wasn't in love with Daisuke, that it was just a sharp friendship a glimmer of doubt always remained. He was in love with Daisuke. "Ken?" The sound of Hikari's voice snapped him out of his daydream. "Oh, Hikari. There you are. Takeru's been looking for you." Ken stated putting his glass down. "I wanted to talk to *you* Ken...when we could be alone." Hikari said looking innocently at him. "What about?" Ken asked. He wasn't liking where this conversation was going. She look up into his eyes and put her arms on his shoulders. "Ever since I first met you...I haven't been able to stop thinking about you" He lips were now dangerously close to his. "I think that we destined to be together..." ‘Oh god...' "So you broke up?!" Daisuke exclaimed. "Geeze, no wonder you're so upset!" Taichi continued to stare at his glass. "It's okay... I've had him to myself for almost two years, I suppose it was time to share him." He took a deep breath. "So why are you here, bummin with me when you should be with your boyfriend?" Daisuke's face turned and instant shade of red. "Um...this wasn't the way the conversation was supposed to go..." "So you do like him!" "No! He's just a friend...a really good friend but still!" Daisuke protested. Taichi's face dropped suddenly as he looked at something behind Daisuke. "Um...you're right, let's go get something to eat." He put his arm on Daisuke's shoulder and tried to haul him out of the room, but Daisuke had already turned around. Ken and Hikari were kissing in the center of the room. Taichi watched as Daisuke's face went pale. "Um...Taichi, I...I think I'm going to go get some air." and he bolted from the room. Taichi knew better than to follow, he just stood where he was and shook his head. "People are so cold." He whispered. He looked towards Ken. Yamato had appeared from no where and was talking hurriedly to him. Ken nodded and ran after Daisuke. Taichi sighed and accidentally caught Yamato's eye. The pretty blonde looked about ready to say something...but Taichi moved quickly away. He didn't need anything else tonight. A band had been scheduled to play at 7:30 that night. They were forty five minutes late. Not only that...they were awful. Well, it wasn't the band itself...it was the singer. ‘Guess I won't be having any trouble getting Mimi to let me sing.' Yamato thought to himself as he clutched a piece of paper in his hand. As if on cue the pink haired girl began screeching. "Yamato! Sing a song! Please!!!" Yamato smiled in slight amusement as he walked up on stage and took the place of the lead singer, who wasn't very happy. He took the mike. "Hello mina!" He called. He scanned the crowd quickly looking for Taichi. He was just about to walk out the door. ‘Damn!' He thought. ‘This won't work if he isn't here!' He took a deep breath... "This is a song I wrote a little while ago, I thought it appropriate for tonight." He kept his eyes on Taichi, hoping that the would turn around. He didn't turn around, but he did pause to listen. "It goes out to someone very, very special..." Taichi chose now to turn around and he met Yamato's eyes. They were glazy and red. It made Yamato's heart hurt. Instead of crying he began to sing. I look in your eyes, shining and free... You'll never know what you've done for me... The band caught the tune and began to play very slow and soft. I see all the pain other's have caused I've made up my mind...I'll set you free Who knew how much it would hurt Who knew by letting you live, I'd hurt you worse! Yamato opened his eyes to face Taichi. He was in back of everyone now, crying, not understanding what was going on. "Taichi I'm so sorry...please forgive me." I see a new love So bright and sure What we used to have... Can we have it again? Taichi had been standing in the back of the room, barely listening...but when he heard those words he shot through everyone and jumped up onto the stage, throwing his arms around Yamato's neck. "Yama...silly, I never cared about what other people said. All I care about is you." and to prove it he kissed him, right in front of everyone. "And of course I forgive you." Looking up he saw that Yamato was crying slightly, so he brushed the tears away. "I've always loved you Taichi." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "Daisuke!" Ken cried as he chaced the goggled boy out the door and into the wet yard. It was raining very hard now. "What?" Daisuke asked. "Are...are you mad at me?" Ken asked, scared to death that he was about to lose the person who ment most to him in the world. "Why would I be mad at you?" Daiuske asked looking off. "Because I kissed Hikari." Ken finished what he knew Daisuke wanted to say. "But...but I didn't! She kissed me!" "It doesn't matter." Daisuke insisted still not looking at Ken. "I just wanted some air." "But it's pouring. You'll get sick." Daisuke didn't say anything. "Please don't do this...I...I love you so much, please don't push me away. It ment nothing." Daisuke forced a laugh. "Yeah, I suppose, Hikari always liked to play with other people's emotions." He put his head down and Ken suspected he was crying. "The only reason I got so upset was because I though..." "What did you think?" Ken asked gently. "I thought I was going to lose you. It's happened before, stupid girls always end up taking away my friends... and, I don't want to share you. I want you for myself." "What are you saying?" Daisuke rubbed the back of his neck. "Nothing, come one we better get back inside." And he began to walk away, but Ken grabbed his sholders. "What were you saying?" "It was stupid all right!? Now can we please get inside?" Daisuke was shaking now. Ken took a deep breath. "Did it have anything to do with this?" He slowly pulled Daiuske's shaking wet form to himself and placed their lips together. They were warm and soft. Daisuke pulled away, a few tears in his eyes. "Yeah...it was something like that..."
